FiX MY PARAGRAPH

Indian Reservations are areas of land given to Native American tribes by the United States government. In the 1850-60s the government decided to move Indians to a land that was unwanted by settlers. Many of the tribes did not want to move to new lands and refused. Soon the government sent in the U.S. Army and forced them to move to the new reservation lands. This caused many bloody wars between the Indians and the U.S. Army. Eventually, most Indians did move to the reservations. Today, reservations are ran by their own tribal council, and less than half of Indians live on the reservations. Many of the Indians who live off the reservations live in large western cities, like Phoenix and Los Angeles.

Type 0f Pers0n i Am

Personally I think that I am the nicest person that you would ever meet. I don't just talk to certain people; I am willing to talk to anybody. And the thing that always catches my own attention is that I am constantly worrying and caring for other people instead of putting myself first. If I am ever put in a situation that I am not comfortable in, you and everybody in the area will know! Somehow, some way I will let somebody know that I do not like to being in the spot I'm in, or I want to do something else so I do feel comfortable. If you were to ask some of the people that I know what do they think of my personality? I think that they would say that I am a loving, fun, caring, respectful and sometimes shy person. But then in the end they would definitely say that if I don't get my way or if somebody ignores me, I will do anything till I get my way. =')

S0uNdTRaCK 0f My LiFE

The only song that I could even come close in relating to would have to be Angel by Amanda Perez. In the song she talks about how she has lost somebody very close to her. All the hard times and struggles that she's going through because she lost that person. And how every night she prays that god will send her an angel to help her come through these times that she's dealing with. I think that the only real main reason this song describes me is because I almost died when I was younger, and somebody from somewhere has been watching over me ever since then. When I hear the song, it makes me think how life and people would be if I no longer existed. I keep telling myself that obviously I have a good purpose in this life because I am still here to this day.

MYyy Ch0iCE

All day yesterday was an adventurous day for me and my family. The day for us had started around 10am and didn't end till around 7pm. My little sister had decided that she and a friend are going to go to snoball this year, so we were out looking for a dress that would fit. We went to stores around Salem and Keizer. When my mom asked her if she had seen the one that she wants yet, she said no I haven't. So all of us took a little trip up to Portland, Beaverton area. After a couple hours of being up there, I had just told my mom that I am going to stay in the car only because I was tired and my feet were hurting. Not even 20 minutes later, they came back out telling me that she had found the dress. I was kind of confused because I didn't see anything in their hands? As my mom had started the car, I asked her where are we going? She responded with," We are going back to Salem, to the downtown mall to go and get it". All I did was just laugh and lay back, and told them not to wake me until we are home.

Some Things I Am Thankful For

The number one thing I am thankful for is my mom because whatever I go through, she does to. I am thankful for my best friend for always being there. I am thankful for my brother and sister. I can always count on them to make me smile. I am thankful for my Nana, only because you never would expect the things that would come out of her mouth. I am thankful for the education I have. I don't know where I would be without it. I am thankful for my bed, so I have somewhere to sleep. I am thankful for all my clothes so I can keep warm. I am thankful for the people I have in my life, the way they influence me to keep going. And I am thankful for my health, because without it I wouldn't be here to this day.

WEek 0Ff

I know that Monday for sure me and my family are going to come to Open House. Just so that way my mom can keep up on what and how I have been doing. For Thanksgiving my whole family is suppose to meet up at my aunt and uncle's church in Monroe. Hopefully this year there will be no drama or any arguments. Maybe this will be the lucky year that everybody will get along the whole time. But with my family, you will never know what happens until it does. The day after Thanksgiving, my mom and I are going to go shopping for my brother and sister. But for the rest of the time of the break, most likely I will just stay inside and try to keep warm!

MYyy WeEKEnd

Last weekend wasn't that exciting only because I was at home. I was busy though. I had to take care of my mom, and watch over my sister and brother. I stayed up weird hours at night to watch over my mom, only because she was sick. In a some weird way overnight, she had gotten an eye infection that was so bad that she was not able to see out of her left eye. Her upper cheek bone, eye lid, and her left temple was swollen. Still to this day she is barely starting to see colors out of that eye.

Technology In My LIfe Today

The technology that I use in my life today is very important to me. If I didn't have my phone, honestly I think I would be lost! I don't only use my phone for texting, talking and sending pictures, I also use it for the Internet. If there was no such thing as a cell phone, honestly I think I would literally curl up in a corner and not know what to do. My mom or somebody would probably have to take me to counseling or something from having withdrawals from having my phone.

Parallel Journeys

The book that I am reading, is about when Hitler thought he was in charge. How he encouraged all the " young men " to join the youth group. How he had such a big impact on every ones lives that he controlled who went to school, where people went, who they talked to, what they ate, who they married, and even where they went. I haven't gotten very far in the book, but so far the only part that I do not like is when Hitler makes it known that if the children do want to join in the youth group, the parents have not a word to say about any disagreement, but to encourage them and tell them that they would be proud.

When I think of eyes, the kind of words that come to my mind are;

• If they have a glow or sparkle in their eye, to me that means they are very happy
• Some peoples eye color change when the weather changes
• Depends on if you know the person well or not, you can tell if they are telling you the truth

The main topic is that he is expressing himself how lonely he gets sometimes in the music industry. It would be better for him if he had somebody there by his side, instead of being alone. He thinks he has so much to offer a lady.
He wants a lady so badly, it doesn't matter what city he's in. Just as long as they let him know that they are the most honest one in the world. But still to this day, all the cities he has been to, he still hasn't found the one he has been looking for.

Opinion On Poetry & Lyrics

My opinion on poetry or lyrics is very positive but reasonable at the same time. I think that personally, when I come across something that has been written down by somebody else, I want to read it without a doubt. Not only to see what it says, but what they have done in their lives. I think that the main reason people write down maybe lyrics to a song, or some poetry here and there, is to get some ideas or issues off of their head. Maybe they've had good times or even bad times in their life and they want to write the situation down so either they will never forget it, or it will help them clear their mind.

^^Family Tradition^^

One of my favorite family traditions would have to be Thanksgiving. Only because that is for some reason the only holiday that nobody ever gets into a argument about. Every year we always do the same thing. My aunt and uncle are pastors, therefor we always have dinner in their church. (It's really only the biggest place that all of us can fit without being crowded.) We have a routine. The kids always play games outside while the adults cook. When it's time to eat, my uncle likes to pray, so whoever is the last person with their thumbs up, they have to say grace. After we're done eating, the adults just sit around and reminisce while the kids go wild.

Where I Consider Home;*

I think the place that I would consider "home" rather then my actual house, would probably have to be my cousins house. When I'm there I feel so comfortable that I could possibly be at my own house. Just the way she has everything set up, it looks and feels like home. The only main difference between my house and her house is that she makes it known that she has a noise level. Only because her house is only so big and everything echos. At my house, its a little bit bigger, so there's always at least one person in each room. Therefore it doesn't echo as much. When I'm at her house, I like the way her personality and attitude is toward everyone. She loves to say, "as soon as you have walked in my front door, you are not a guest." Everyone always laughs and then she says, " Make yourself at home."

; { SEPTEMBER 11TH } ;

Honestly, the only thing that I remember about that day, was that there was so much commotion. It was on every channel on TV. I remember that I was mad because I wanted to watch a certain show, and it wasn't on because of this disaster. The day that it did happen, I really didn't understand the situation and why. It wasn't until a couple years later that I actually understood the situation and what had happened. Still to this day, yeah I do feel sorry for the people that had lost somebody that was close to them that day. I know a couple people that think it's ridiculous to remember that day. For me personally, I would have the most respect for those people especially on that day!.

MYyy Ideal DaYyy

I would have to say that my ideal day would have to be pretty simple. The only people that I would have with me would be my little sister, my little brother, and my mom. I would want to take them somewhere they have wanted to go for a long time to have fun. I would tell them that they could do whatever they want and that they have no amount to go by.

After we were done there, I would take them shopping. All I would say is tell me where you want to go and we will. Again I would have to tell them that they do not have any specific amount to go by. The only things I would tell them is that first get what you need, and then when your done get the things that you want.

At the end of the day I would tell them, "Okay now we're going to go somewhere I want to go." We would go to the coast, and have dinner. This option I would leave to my mom because she knows what kind of food we all would agree on. When we were done eating, we would go walking on the sand. Only for a few minutes though because it has been a long day, and everyone is tired. Like I said, yeah it is a simple day but then it would be my ideal day with my family!

!!Embarrassing^Moment!!

I think that my most embarrassing moment would have to be the "problem" I was in just the other day. The day was going good, everything was going fine, but for some reason the way I would be talking would be all messed up! In some way I would be saying everything backwards. I even started laughing at myself because luckily I was with my sister and she would finish what I was trying to say. But even sometimes she wouldn't get the little key words. So my mom and her made me get a pen and notebook and write everything down that I would say. All I have to say is that I hope that it never happens to me again! ;)

* Fall Season * ;)

My favorite thing about the fall is probably the different clothes to come out. Around when the time comes, I always go through all my clothes, put all the shorts, sandals, swimsuits, and tanktops away, and bring out the jeans, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, vests, shoes, and boots.

If you ask anybody else what do they like about fall, they would probably say the change of colors in everything, or the major change in the weather climate. I think that it sounds crazy because I hate the cold weather, and for me personally, everything changing colors, its nothing new to me. My mom always tells me part of that reason is because I was born and raised here so it's just another "normal" thing for me.

I think that the reason people get addicted to anything, nothing specifically, is because of the kind of life they live and whether they are going through hard times, depression, over whelming, or the loss of someone. They will most likely do anything to keep their mind off it, or to "help" them deal with their problem or situation.

School & Education

To me school and education are one of the most important things in my life. They are important because without either one of these, it decides for you on what you are able to do with your future. It decides on where you can work, what you are able to do, and sometimes on where your able to live.

I come to school so I can help myself receive a better education. Since I have came to school more often, I have learned more things then I ever thought that I would. With this learning I have gotten, I have came much further then I ever thought that I would be able to. With what I know now I can be a much more better person later on in life too.

If I were in the spot where I lost all my things in a "natural disaster", I personally think that I would have a hard time dealing with the whole situation. If I had the choice to save one thing, I think it would be the pictures. The reason I say pictures is because when you look at them, they will help you remember the good times that you had. They would help you and your family remember how happy you can be when you just have each other.

[ Definition ; Dedication ]

The meaning of dedication in my life is that if I want to do something or interested in something, I will put my all into it. Some of the things I am dedicated to in my life are finishing school and my health. I know that some of my mother's dedications in her life are very important to her. They are being a good mom, taking care of her children, making sure that they have a good education, that they have food to eat, clothes on their back, and a place called home.

Important Influence

I would think that the person that has most influence in my life would have to be my uncle.

I think that both roles are very important because if it wasn't for the grandparents, the parents wouldn't know how to be involved in the kid's lives. Sometimes it isn't true though. Maybe in a family the parents are trying to be better role models for their children, then their parents did for them. My grandparents only play a little role in my life.
Honestly, the most they have ever taught me is that if I get married, life isn't always perfect. There are hard times, sad times, good times, and happy times. But in the end we will always be happy because we have each other. My mom plays a big role in my life. She has taught me that when bad times come to worse, you will always have the ones you really love, and it always gets better before you realize it. I give her much respect because of all the things she's done in her life. What she has done to take care of my sister, little brother and I. And when we thought nothing else was possible, it always started something new.

*Favorite Type Of Music!.

My number one choice of music would have to be Slow Jams. I really don't have a favorite artist that I listen to. If you were me, I don't think that you would either because of the type of person my mom is. It's crazy but it's the truth. Honestly I know songs that were even a little bit before my time. ;) I have chosen Slow Jams because there is all different types to listen to. I love how they talk about the reality of life. How it is to grow up without a mother or a father, how it feels to have somebody to care about you the same way you care about them. What different feelings and emotions you get when you accomplish things in life, when everyone had told you that you would fail.

MYyy SUMmERr

This year my summer was pretty good. I had spent alot of time with my family and close friends. During that time, we had gone to the beach, gone out to eat, and went to the park, while my little brother played basketball, my sister and I had swung on the swings. No matter what we did we were always together. The funny part is that no matter where we were, or even who was round, we would find something to do. Even if we had to act retarded to keep ourselves busy!! ;)

Pre - Writing

I believe in accomplishing things in life. I believe in this because if someone really puts their mind to something and maybe has a person by his / her side, they can do anything they want to.


In my life, I have accomplished things that I always thought that I could never do. Throughout this entire situation I have had my mom, a few family members, and a few others by my side saying " Meghan, you are doing so well.. keep up the excellent work." My situation is that I never thought that I would finish school. When I went to middle school, my attendance was good enough to say that yeah I was there, so what. My freshmen year I started off well, but torwards the end i started messing up. Sophmore year, I had promised myself that im going to do the best that I could and start going to school and doing my work. I had followed my promise all the way through that school year. As soon as my junior year hit me, I finally realized that I really need to put my ALL into what im doing, and step my game up.

It was all doing so well until one day a teacher had called me to the side and said that she would like to speak with me for a minute. She said that I was missing a little assignment in her class and that she wanted me to stay after to finish it up. I had told her repeatedly and politely that i was not able to only because I am babysitting directly after school. I guess that she didn't like my answer because when I had turned to walk away, she had grabbed my arm to get my attention.. But honeslty, that had only made me more mad. So all I did is just look at her, and turned and walked away.

That same day as soon as I had gotten home and told my mom the situation, she immediately and had me transfer to a different school. for the rest of the year, it went good. my attendance was increasing, my grades were going alot higher, etc. So following that, I had proven to my mom that as long as I was never in that teachers class again, I will do very well. As I was going into my senior year, my little sister was a freshmen. That was another reason my mom wanted me to go back to the other school. So I had attended school on a regular basis for a couple months. But when it was time for schedule changes, I had immediately wanted to quit school, because I didn't feel like dealing with the drama from that specific teacher.

I Believe Brainstorming

1. I believe that no matter what you come by in life, there's always a way to get through it.

Like And Dislike About Salem

Some of the things that I do like about Salem are that where ever you're at, you can always find some where to go or even something to do. There are so many parks, buildings with activities to do inside, malls, etc. I was born and raised here, I know a good amount of people here, and most of my family lives here. A couple of things that I don't like is that mainly every corner you turn, there is someone holding a homeless sign. Also everyone has their own opinion, and some people think that Salem is a bad place for kids to grow up at.

Is It Important ? .

I think that you should stand up for your family without hesitating one second. No matter what the situation is. Because automatically you should know that if you were ever in a situation, they would do the same exact thing for you too. You should also be able to stand up for you friends because if they were that good friend that you have always thought of them as, you would probably assume that they would do it for you without thinking about it twice. Yeah I have had to stand up for my family, but I've never been in the situation to stand up for my friends.

Lately at home I have been reading this book called Double Identity. Honestly when I looked at the cover, and the title, I thought that it was going to be another boring book. But I was wrong. So far this book is about a little 12 year old girl who has been under her parents care her whole life. They dont let her go to friends house, to the malls / stores, don't let her go on field trips with her classmates at school, nothing. One day she came home from school to find her suitcases already packed by the front door. She asked her father where they were going? She got no answer. Her, her father, and her mother all got into the car and just drove. I think that the book said that they drove across 6 states. Her father had taken her to her "aunts" house, (a lady that she has never met) and dropped her off.

That is as far as I have gotten in this book right now.. But I am going to keep reading, because to me this is just starting to get interesting.

I think that a reason people write music and poetry is because it's a positive way for them to express how they feel about something. Not anything specific. Maybe something from their childhood, something horrible that happened to them, or maybe even something that was good and they remember every detail.

:) SPRING BREAK (:

The first day of spring break, I went and took my little sister to go and get her bottom lip pierced. For some weird reason though my spring break seems like it was extremely extended!!!! LoL. There was a couple times that I went shopping for clothes, jewelery, shoes, the usual. But honestly, the rest of the time I was either babysitting to make money, or I was babysitting my little sister and my little brother.

Opinion On Barbie Dolls

I think that Barbie dolls are in a certain way good for little girls. By playing with these Barbie dolls, they can pretend, imagine things, and maybe they can use the dolls to help them figure out what they want to do in the future. The little girls I know, they love to play with dolls.

Journal: Where do people come up with their beliefs?.

I think that the way some people form their beliefs is by something that had dramatically happened to them, something that someone had said or even done for them. Or even something that they had seen with their own eyes. I think this is the way it is only because anything is able to happen no matter where you're at. By saying this meaning you could be any where in the world, something could just happen one time, and it could change a person's life forever.

This whole time that i have been absent from school, I have seen and heard things that if I had a choice, I would never want to hear!! I have had so many tests done at OHSU. Throughout my entire life I have had to have several surgeries done.... To make a long story short, from what I have heard,I may have to have a major surgery done again!! LoL

The picture that I took was of the capitol building. Everyday in that building many events take place. For example, that is where laws are made, it is where legislation takes place, etc. To people Salem is a city that is important to see, because of the capitol building, and the goldman. Then to other people that have lived in Salem either most of their life or all of their life, the capitol is just another building that is surrounded by many trees.
